Students completing an IMechE accredited degree are deemed to have met, part or all, of the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, and are in a strong position to move on to achieve professional engineering status after a period of initial professional development in industry.

You’ll work in advanced automotive workshops and laboratories that include industry-standard equipment such as computer numerical control (CNC), three-dimensional scanning and rapid prototype facilities, engine test labs and reverse engineering. This allows you to apply your knowledge to commercial practice while gaining new skills, learning how industry works and earning a salary.automotive engineering

The automotive engineering program is located on the campus of the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) in Greenville, SC, which houses several research and development centers of major automotive industrial partners (see Facilities for more information about CU-ICAR).automotive engineering

An introduction to fundamental knowledge of how to use CFD software to analyse the external flow dynamics, as well as the future development of automotive systems and technologies will be considered. Automotive engineering is a branch of vehicle engineering which incorporates mechanical, electrical, electric and safety elements. Among our engineering and technology graduates who are in employment within six months of graduating, 90% are in graduate level jobs (source: Unistats 2015). Year 3 comprises core engineering subjects and specialist advanced automotive modules, plus two project modules.automotive engineering

Our graduates are renowned for their ability to apply themselves to engineering challenges, as well as possessing excellent practical skills which support a thorough grounding in analytical engineering. Perform or execute manual or automated tests of automotive system or component performance, efficiency, or durability. We put particular emphasis on computational methods and software packages in automotive engineering analysis, design and manufacture. Our recent graduates have gone on to work for companies such as McLaren Automotive, General Motors, Jaguar, Perkins Engines and Parametrics Technology.
